•    Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the design and development of  products
•    Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and business products
•    Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
•    Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
•    May be assigned projects in various areas including, but not limited to, product operations, exploratory analysis, product influence, and data infrastructure
•    Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
•    Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
•    Perform data analyses on tactical (feature-level) and strategic (team objectives and goals) work to drive team direction
•    Develop strategic narrative based on analytical insights and priorities
•    Think about key questions and metrics to define success for any product/feature
•    In connection with these duties, may apply knowledge of the following:
o    Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets
o    Data querying languages, such as SQL, scripting languages, such as Python, or statistical or mathematical software, such as R, SAS, or Matlab
o    Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing, in an industry setting
o    Communicating the results of analyses to product or leadership teams to influence strategy
o    Machine learning techniques
o    ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
o    Relational databases
o    Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems
o    Quantitative analysis techniques, including clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
Central Integrity & Support department
Central Integrity & Support is focused on reducing the number of bad experiences on platforms (Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, etc.). To do so, teams take various integrity actions, ranging from removing specific posts, to limiting the countries in which a post can be seen, or preventing a user from using a certain feature (eg. liking, or commenting).
As the number of surfaces and the number of problems on those surfaces scale, so must our systems, processes and teams. Facebook always had people working on integrity, but since 2017, Facebook invested heavily in improving the integrity of the Facebook family of products, making incredible progress in getting a growing set of emerging problems under control.
INTRODUCING "Transparency & Appeals"
Central Integrity & Support -> Care -> Remediation -> Transparency & Appeals
•    Transparency & Appeals builds scalable, supportive and legitimate experiences for users and advertisers when they face enforcements
o    We provide Notice and Appeals for all users and advertisers that  enforces on across FB, IG, Threads and Messenger in collaboration with partners across company.
•    The experiences we build not only have significant impact on voice and revenue, they also face a high level of scrutiny from regulators around the globe, so aside from providing users a better experience, we are also accountable to deliver regulatory readiness
•    Given the scale of enforcements (many billions per month) and the different types of enforcements (e.g. content takedowns, feature limits, account disables) it is incredibly challenging to provide this value to our users in a sustainable and agile manner.
o    To make this happen you will collaborate with teams across company.
THE ROLE
•    We have several teams within Transparency & Appeal and specifically looking for someone to cover Appeals for account enforcements, i.e. when we take an action on a user or advertiser’s account
•    This is our highest priority area and we are looking for a seasoned data scientist to support us both strategically and operationally
•    You will work with our Engineers, Designers and Product Managers to:
o    Improve the mechanisms that exist to appeal (e.g. Consider account disables, feature limits and lightweight enforcements)
o    Identify how we meet the needs and expectations of our users and what opportunities there are to improve
o    Balance reducing harm on the platform with protecting voice and revenue, alongside regulation and cost guardrails.
o    Align the business on your improvement ideas and support their implementation
•    You will also work closely with data partners to establish or improve our measurement capabilities in this space, ensuring that the team stays on target at all times
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
•    Excited about giving millions of users a day a more supportive integrity experience when they face  enforcements
•    Excited about optimising systems for scale at the intersection of user facing experiences and platform capabilities while balancing multiple competing priorities
•    Enjoys thinking through how we best form partnerships with other teams and how scalable solutions should be governed effectively.
•    Enjoys getting their hands dirty to understand data and system disconnects and can drive insightful root-cause-analysis
•    Passionate about building solid and scalable measurement solutions
