WhatĀ you’llĀ be doing:Ā Ā Ā Ā 

  • Architect and implement scalable, resilient, low-latency data systems.Ā 

  • Ensure systems meet performance and reliability standards.Ā 

  • Collaborate with engineering leadership and stakeholders.Ā 

  • Set technical strategy and best practices for data engineering.Ā 

  • Deliver solutions for multiple entities within the group.Ā 

  • Ensure alignment with business needs and cloud opportunities.Ā 

  • Promote secure, high-quality data pipelines.Ā 

  • Implement standards for data integrity and compliance.Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ andĀ eliminateĀ recurring issues through automation.Ā 

  • Improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Ā 

  • Provide guidance and technical leadership.Ā 

Ā 

WhatĀ you’llĀ need:Ā 

  • Extensive industry experience in designing,Ā buildingĀ and supporting distributed systems andĀ large-scale data processing systemsĀ in production with a provenĀ track recordĀ 

  • Proven experience and knowledge of automation and CI/CD.Ā 

  • Best practice coding/scripting experience developed in a commercial/industry setting (Python, SQL, Java, Scala or Go).Ā 

  • Strong working experience with operational data stores, data warehouse, big dataĀ technologiesĀ and data lakesĀ 

  • Experience in using distributed frameworks (Spark, Flink, Beam, Hadoop)Ā 

  • Good knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes etc) and experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS.Ā 

  • Strong experience working withĀ (Real Time streaming), such as Kafka technologiesĀ 

  • Clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, designĀ patternsĀ and core programming concepts.Ā 

  • Good understating of cloud storage, networking, and resource provisioningĀ 
    Ā 

And any experience of these would beĀ really useful:Ā 

  • Certification in GCP ā€œCloud Architectā€,Ā ā€œCloud Developerā€,Ā ā€œProfessional Data Engineerā€Ā 

  • Certification in Apache Kafka (CCDAK)Ā
