We’re recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team Portsmouth or Basingstoke! This is a permanent, full time role working 37 hours a week, with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working within the team and other colleagues across the business.

Here’s the facts about the role:

We're looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, helping to establish reusable patterns, engineering standards and automated delivery practices. As well as improving platform performance, reliability and cost efficiency while supporting the development of other engineers.
 

In this role you’ll play a key role in shaping and evolving a modern Azure data platform. Working with technologies including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Delta Lake, SQL, Python and PySpark, you'll design, build and optimise secure, scalable data pipelines and trusted data products that support reporting, self-service analytics, advanced analytics and AI initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive best practice, and contribute to data-driven decision making across VIVID.


As a senior member of the team, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the business to deliver robust, production-ready solutions. You'll lead on engineering standards, CI/CD practices, automated testing and platform optimisation while mentoring other engineers and supporting the continued development of a high-performing data function. Your work will directly contribute to delivering excellent services for our customers and ensuring data is managed securely, efficiently and responsibly.
