Description

Canon EMEA is looking for a talented Data Engineer to take ownership of the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring seamless data integration and accessibility, enabling Canon's ITCG Marketing, eCommerce, and CRM teams to make data-driven decisions and deliver impactful customer and commercial initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain collections of sophisticated data pipelines, models and visualisations that integrate marketing and sales data with other internal and external data sources in Google BigQuery and Power BI to support Canon’s ITCG marketing, ecommerce and CRM team initiatives.
  • Perform exploratory analysis using Python/R and SQL to uncover trends, anomalies, and business opportunities in ITCG digital marketing and sales data and present back insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Create, present and maintain dashboards and ad-hoc reports in Power BI based on requirements gathered from key stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decisions.
  • Identify and automate repetitive data tasks, workflows, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual data handling utilising Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Develop and optimise data models that support scalable and efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval within Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability before it's used in downstream systems and collaborate with IT on upstream changes required.


Qualifications

•    Excellent SQL skills
•    Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling concepts and structuring new data tables
•    Knowledge of cloud-based data warehousing (Google BigQuery)
•    Experience developing in a BI tool (Power BI or similar)
•    Python or R proficiency, particularly in areas of automation and integrations

Salary is between £49,091 - £58,441 + 10% bonus and benefits depending on experience and skills.
