Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused onâŠ.Â
What you will do as a Senior Data Engineer
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data solutions across the full lifecycle: acquisition, integration, storage, processing, and analysisÂ
Develop tools for data-driven insights and task automationÂ
Research and adopt emerging technologiesÂ
Collaborate with stakeholders to define data and tool requirementsÂ
Work with cloud platforms and diverse operating systems Â
Support development and deployment of machine learning modelsÂ
Collaborate with DevOps Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts and Cyber ConsultantsÂ
Leverage big data technologies and orchestration toolsÂ
Lead small work packages and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.Â
Contribute to design decisions and ensure quality of outputs.Â

What youâll bringÂ
Proven experience in data engineering with ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables. Â
Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building and optimising data pipelines. Â
Understanding of database architecture (SQL and NoSQL) and cloud technologies. Â
Ability to lead small work packages and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Â
Experience contributing to design decisions and ensuring quality of outputs. Â
Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to collaborate across teams. Â
Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders and sharing technical insights.Â

Exposure to infrastructure scaling e.g. KubernetesÂ
Exposure to Ansible and TerraformÂ
Understanding of ML algorithms and deploymentÂ
