About this opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer join our Client Data and Analytics team! You'll play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data products into our new data architecture, driving innovation and optimising data utilisation.
In this role, you’ll help shape and run key parts of our data and knowledge management systems, working alongside experienced colleagues. You’ll spot opportunities to improve IT security processes and suggest practical changes that make a difference.
You’ll deliver tailored products and services that meet customer needs, lead small to medium-sized projects, and evaluate complex solutions to find the best fit for the business. You’ll also manage a specific area of work, guiding others to achieve shared goals.
Collaboration is key—you’ll coordinate across teams to build work schedules that support our long-term plans. You’ll analyse data from various sources to identify trends and their impact, and you’ll support others’ development while investing in your own growth.
As part of our change programme, you’ll identify areas for improvement, lead workstreams, and recommend updates to policies and practices that enhance how we operate.

What skills and experience you’ll need:
Data Engineering – including data ingestion and processing, data storage, data analysis, and data pipeline development
Teradata expertise
DevOps – experience with CI/CD practices
Software Engineering – proficiency in Python and Java/C
AI Utilisation – such as pair programming and testing
Quality Engineering and Testing
Data Warehousing – ideally cloud-based

Architecture
Data Modelling & Design
Micro Services architecture
