Position Summary
The AI team at Samsung Research UK is currently looking for Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Staines-upon-Thames. This is a good opportunity to work on next-generation mobile devices from Samsung.Role and Responsibilities
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will:
Explore and experiment with emerging technologies to continuously improve our AI-driven content reconstruction, creation and edition processes. Review the state of the art computer vision research papers and develop prototype solutions.
Develop cutting-edge software and algorithms for computer vision, image processing and deep learning models
Have technical responsibility for one or more significant sections of the assigned project
Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills:
Masters or higher degree in ML/AI, Computer Science/Engineering, or related disciplines
Strong fundamentals in machine learning, NLP and Computer Vision
First author publications in top ML/AI conferences/journals (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, IEEE TPAMI, AAAI or similar)
Demonstrated experience in:
Generative AI, including hands-on implementation of state-of-the-art models.
3-D vision
Developing with machine learning frameworks – Tensorflow/Pytorch
Strong development skills with Python and/or C/C++ is required.
Excellent communication, teamwork and a results-oriented attitude
Proficiency in problem-solving and debugging
Desirable Skills:
Expertise in image-based 3D reconstruction: Photogrammetry, Neural Radiance Fields (NERF) or Gaussian Splatting techniques.
Model optimization and knowledge distillation.
Professional software development experience with C++ and Python
Experience in computer graphics and rendering: design and development of software such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan or DirectX
Experience in Android application development
Contract Type: 6 Month Contract or Internship
Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK
Hybrid Working: 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home weekly
