Data Analyst

Job Summary:<\/b>
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Slough Borough Council is seeking a Data Analyst for a 12\-week temporary contract to work primarily on Adult Services systems.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• The role involves developing and maintaining dashboards, data pipelines, and technical infrastructure to support management information, KPIs, statutory reporting, and insights for evidence\-based decision\-making.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the Council to ensure high\-quality, integrated data and to provide actionable insights.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Tools involved include Liquidlogic, Controcc, Agresso (desirable), SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric.
<\/div>

Key Duties\/Accountabilities (Sample):<\/b>

• Create, maintain, and develop data dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support business decisions.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Integrate and manage disparate data sources, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and usability.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Support colleagues in interpreting data and provide actionable insights for service improvement and operational efficiency.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Undertake analytical projects to generate insights from complex datasets, including both internal and external sources.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Work with data professionals and external suppliers to build data products and services, applying modern analytical techniques.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Translate findings into clear, visual, and textual reports suitable for senior stakeholders and business users.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Ensure compliance with council policies, standards, and security requirements.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Participate in cross\-functional projects and help implement the council’s data strategy.
<\/div>
<\/div>
<\/div>
<\/div>
Skills\/Experience:<\/b>
<\/b> <\/div>
<\/b> <\/div>
• Experience with data analysis, dashboards, and visualisation (Power BI essential).
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Ability to extract, clean, link, enhance, and model complex datasets.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and preferably Liquidlogic, Controcc, Agresso.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Experience working with large, messy, and complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Strong statistical and analytical skills; ability to apply techniques to real\-world business problems.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Ability to translate technical analysis into clear recommendations for non\-technical stakeholders.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Experience in public sector data or local authority systems desirable.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Strong communication skills, able to work with internal teams, senior management, and external partners.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Experience in cross\-functional team projects and collaborative service improvement initiatives.
<\/div>
<\/div>

Additional Information:<\/b>

• Bi\-Weekly Payments.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Location: Slough, Observatory House.
<\/div>
<\/div>
• Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30.
