About the Role
We are looking for a talentedĀ Data EngineerĀ to help drive the next phase ofĀ Project Heliosāour bespoke web application and data platform. This is a pivotal, cross-functional role where youāll shape and implement our data strategy, working at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development.
Youāll enhance data ingestion pipelines, build scalable data models, and ensure seamless integration into bothĀ Power BIĀ and ourĀ React/Next.jsĀ web application. Collaborating closely with ourĀ Group Data and Technology Lead, youāll help centralise client, revenue, and review workflowsāpowered byĀ Microsoft FabricĀ andĀ Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Development
- Design and maintain scalableĀ ETL/ELT pipelinesĀ usingĀ Azure Data FactoryĀ andĀ Synapse.
- Model and store data usingĀ Delta Lake / OneLake, with governance and lineage viaĀ Microsoft Purview.
- Integrate third-party APIs (e.g.Ā Intelligent Office,Ā AJ Bell,Ā Transact) into the platform.
Cloud, DevOps & Governance
- Contribute toĀ CI/CDĀ pipelines usingĀ Azure DevOps,Ā Docker, andĀ Git.
- Implement secure credential management and monitoring viaĀ Azure Key Vault.
- Document architecture, data flows, and technical processes across the stack.
Innovation & Collaboration
- Partner with analytics, architecture, and engineering teams to enhance data-driven product experiences.
- Continuously improve ingestion, modelling, and integration processes within theĀ Microsoft FabricĀ ecosystem.
What Weāre Looking For
Technical Expertise
- Proficient inĀ React,Ā Next.js,Ā NestJS, andĀ Node.js.
- Strong experience in data orchestration, modelling, and integration into web applications.
- Hands-on withĀ Microsoft FabricĀ (Pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouses) andĀ AzureĀ services.
- Skilled inĀ SQLĀ (T-SQL preferred) and eitherĀ Apache SparkĀ orĀ PythonĀ for data engineering.
- Experience embeddingĀ Power BIĀ dashboards into web applications.
- Familiarity with data governance tools likeĀ Microsoft PurviewĀ and security best practices.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in combined full-stack and data engineering roles.
- Proven track record of delivering integrated, data-driven applications.
- Experience withĀ Microsoft AzureĀ (essential); Financial Services or Wealth Management background would be an advantage.
- A degree in a relevant subject would be a strong advantage.
