Role Title: Data Engineer SAP BusinessObjects

Days on site: 2-3 days a week

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP BusinessObjects Consultant to support the migration from SAP BO 4.3 to SAP BI 2025 Shared Farm. The consultant will be responsible for universe conversion, report migration, security configuration, migration validation, performance optimization, troubleshooting, UNV->UNX and production support.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Support SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 to SAP BI 2025 migration activities, including  testing, reconciliation, cutover, and post-migration support.
• Convert legacy .UNV universes to .UNX using Information Design Tool (IDT), including redesign of universes where required.
• Create and maintain Data Foundations, Business Layers, connections, LOVs, hierarchies, parameters, navigation paths, multiple prompts, conditions, derived tables, classes, and objects.
• Configure universe and data security profiles and resolve loops using contexts, aliases, and aggregate-awareness techniques. Apply and troubleshoot advanced universe capabilities.
• Perform UDT/IDT integrity checks, dependencies, and detailed universe (UNV/UNX) validation.
• Migrate and validate Web Intelligence (WebI) content, including reports, schedules, publications, connections, Universes, dependencies, and user access.
• Perform BusinessObjects administration using CMC/CMS, including authentication, security, services, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot migrations using Promotion Management, Upgrade Management Tool (UMT), and Lifecycle Management (LCM).
• Perform performance analysis, tuning, incident resolution, and ongoing production support.
 
Required Experience
 
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 and SAP BI 2025.
• Proven experience with UNV-to-UNX universe conversion and complex universe development.
• Advanced experience with IDT, Universe Designer,UDT, Web Intelligence (WebI), Desktop Intelligence, CMC, and CMS administration.
• Practical experience with BusinessObjects migrations/upgrades and migration tooling.
• Experience with SAP BW integration, platform security, SSO/authentication, scheduling, publications, and production support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across reports, universes, platform services, connectivity, and performance.
 
SAP BI 2025 experience is particularly important because the platform introduces significant changes compared with BI 4.3, and removal of support for several legacy components.
