πŸ”‘ About The Job

We’re looking for a growth-focussed, commercially minded Data Scientist to join Omaze, reporting to our Analytics Director. You will work with business functions across Omaze, including Growth, Product, and Property & Partnerships. Your work is able to unlock strategic decision making across teams, and you bias towards initiatives with the greatest business impact.

πŸ”§ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Help us understand the potential performance of future Omaze houses of different styles in different locations (both in the UK, and potentially beyond), and the preferences of our different customer groups
  • Segment customers based on their behaviour and demographics to help us personalise user experience, both within the app, and through our marketing comms
  • Forecast sales, building models that account for seasonal trend, geographic properties of our houses and customer base, and other draws that we are planning to run
  • Develop and optimise predictive models that forecast user lifetime value, ensuring data-driven channel optimisation and decisions that maximise Return On Ad Spend

🀩 About You

  • 3+ years of data science experience at a tech / growth-stage business
  • Excellent knowledge of data science techniques and industry standard Python libraries
  • Fluency in SQL (we use Snowflake as our data warehouse, but experience with Redshift, GCP, and the like is fine)
  • Evidence of having had clear commercial impact with work, and experience of working with non-technical stakeholders to help their decision making
  • Deep statistical knowledge – you know why models perform like they do, and what algorithms are appropriate for different circumstances (you don’t just chuck data into an sklearn Random Forest and hope for the best)
  • Experience of deploying ML models into production environments preferred

We actively seek out diversity of thought and experience to drive innovation. We welcome all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives and work hard to ensure that every Omaze employee can bring their authentic self to work at all times.

πŸ™Œ What’s In It For You

  • Generous stock options scheme
  • 30 days annual leave PLUS Bank Holidays
  • Annual office closure between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
  • Private medical and dental insurance
  • 9% employer pension contributions, when you contribute at least 2%
  • Β£1,200 learning and development budget each year to use on training courses, conferences and professional memberships
  • Personal equipment budget to work from home
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Life assurance of 4x your salary

πŸ” Our hiring process

Our hiring process may vary between roles, particularly for technical roles where we may incorporate a technical skills/based interview, but as standard you’ll have:

  1. Screening call with one of our in-house Talent Leads
  2. First stage interview with the Hiring Manager
  3. On-site second stage interview with key stakeholders – this could be other managers, peers or Senior team members.
  4. Final stage interview with one of our Execs.

On average, our hiring process takes around 2-3 weeks after your initial screening call.

We hire on a rolling basis, so we’ll close the role when we either a) have enough applications to process or b) have hired someone exceptional to fill the position. You’ll hear from us throughout the process, but if you’ve got any questions, please reach out to us at talent@omaze.com. ⭐
