About the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer within our Engineering team. The role requires hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks, along with the ability to design, build, and scale reliable data pipelines.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable batch and streaming pipelines in Databricks (PySpark, SparkSQL)
- Own end-to-end data workflows: ingestion, transformation, quality, and delivery to downstream systems
- Model and structure data for analytics and operational use cases
- Act as an IC: contribute directly to design and code alongside the team
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and infra teams to ensure data reliability and performance.
- Enforce engineering discipline: testing, versioning, CI/CD, monitoring.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- 5+ years in data engineering with proven experience building production pipelines
- 2+ years hands-on Databricks experience
- Strong Python and SQL development skills; deep knowledge of Spark
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
Desirable:
- Familiarity with data modeling, data lakes/warehouses and performance tuning
- Comfortable switching between high-level architecture discussions and low-level coding
